August 2017

Dear faithful friends and supporters of Izmail Life Care Center.

With your support this pro life ministry has been serving women and families of Ukraine since 2004. We had a lot of ups and downs, innovations and changes but you were always close to us in your prayers and actions. We are staying put trying to accommodate the changing needs of those who we serve. Right now in the month of August the LCC does not work, the staff takes vacation every August. We are planning to start our work in September 2017.

September 2016

Dear friends and supporters of Izmail Life Care Center. It has been a year since I am not physically present every day in the office of the LCC, since we moved to Austin TX. Though I am still a director of this ministry and we keep meeting with the staff and volunteers every Monday on Skype. I myself spent three months out of this year in Izmail, one in January and two in summer when I could observe the relationships and take part in the work of Life Care Center. August is a vacation month and today we had a first Skype meeting in this school year.

Dear friends and supporters of Izmail Life Care center - the Pro-life ministry of Jesus Christ in Izmail Ukraine.

It is always good to remember who we and everything we do belong to, especially when we are so busy. These last three months in Izmail Life Care Center were very busy and hot. Hot from the Southern Ukrainian weather and hot from the events God allowed us to go through.

We spend  the month of May traveling, taking part and teaching conferences, retreats and forums.
Angela and I are among the speakers of the Forum of Christian Psychologists in Odessa.
Teaching how to lead a panel discussion " The myths of safe sex" at the Pro-life retreat in Western Ukraine.
Taking part in the conference of Journey to freedom in Ukraine ministry.

11 moms graduated from School for moms from May to the end of July. 2 husbands who we prepared went to have the babies together with their wives. 5 got the main prize - the crib.
Graduation party for one of the groups.

Dear friends and supporters of Izmail Life Care Center.

All the volunteers, staff and clients of the LCC greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Two weeks ago we celebrated Easter and according to our local Orthodox tradition the Christians greet each other with the words “Christ has risen!” for 40 days before they celebrate the holiday of Ascension . Those who have been greeted answer: “He has risen indeed!”  So I greet you according to our tradition and hope you all answered the right way!

Dear friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ on behalf of the staff and volunteers of Izmail Life Care Center.

Let me tell you about our life and service to the Lord here in Izmail, Ukraine. We have started a New Year with the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus together with the volunteers and former clients of the LCC. We planned and conducted several events devoted to this date. In the eastern orthodox culture we celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January that is why on the 6th we got together for the festive celebration of our Lord’s birthday.  The students of our Sunday school, children of 4-7 years old, took part in the play, telling us the story of Jesus’ birth. We sang Christmas carols, played games and prayed for our needs.

January, 2013

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, friends and supporters of the Izmail Life Care Center.

This year the Life Care Center will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its ministry. The time went so fast that we were kind of surprised when realized that. Maybe later I will write you about our achievements in this period of time, but this letter is devoted to the last year of our work.

In the year 2012 the LCC was able to assist 750 people with different types of help, including one on one and group counseling, support groups, clothes exchange, different classes and holiday events.

38 families went through the 2 months course in School for Moms and 24 of them got the main reword – baby crib.

July 5, 2012

Dear friends and supporters of Izmail Life Care Center, Ukraine.
I am really sorry that we have not been in touch for almost three months by now. I am glad Angela is back to work and I have an opportunity to write all of you and let you know what we are up to in this part of God’s world and ministry.

Many of you have been praying for Angela’s health and some of you helped with advice, money and even needed medicine for her. She is doing much better. After spending three weeks in local hospital with diagnosis of blood clots she was sent to Regional hospital in Odessa where they did not prove this diagnosis. She had to go through different types of tests and finally was prescribed the medicines which seem to help. Because of the long and heavy stresses in life she developed a deep depression with different somatic problems. She still needs your prayers.

Dear team mates of God’s pro-life ministry in Izmail Ukraine.

I greet you on behalf of the staff and volunteers of Izmail Life Care Center.
Christ has risen!!

Spring is always associated with life not only because the new leaves and flowers come up after long winter sleep but also because finally it has gotten warmer here and women took off their coats and you can see so many expectant moms. We love this time because it always reminds us that we minister to God according to His will and it encourages us. We continue to serve God through the ministry of the LCC trying to work in as many directions as possible.
Alongside the usual work of conducting school for moms and doing everything possible to follow up with former clients in March and April we were able to:

February 29, 2012

Dear friends and supporters of the Izmail Life Care Center;

February was an unusual month for the lives and work of the staff and volunteers of the LCC. It was the first time in many years we had a very low temperature and  much snow which slowed down the work of our Center. The schools were closed for two weeks so we could not be as active as we are used to. In spite of the weather predicament we kept working and did what we could.

1. A group of 6 women successfully graduated from the “School for moms”, 3 of them were rewarded with the main price – the crib.

2. 7 students went through the translation practice and were able to translate the first 5 lessons in a new abstinence program which we are going to use in our future work with middle school students. They have also translated some brochures. One of the students showed ability and interest to interpret for Art and Sharon Scott during their visit in May.
