September 2016

Dear friends and supporters of Izmail Life Care Center. It has been a year since I am not physically present every day in the office of the LCC, since we moved to Austin TX. Though I am still a director of this ministry and we keep meeting with the staff and volunteers every Monday on Skype. I myself spent three months out of this year in Izmail, one in January and two in summer when I could observe the relationships and take part in the work of Life Care Center. August is a vacation month and today we had a first Skype meeting in this school year.

Last year when I was leaving my work, family and friends behind I felt a lot of fear, uncertainty and distress about how everything will go without me. After a year I can say that it is not just going well but God has blessed some things and beginnings the way I had never expected.

1. We have more faithful volunteers than we have ever had before.

2. We were able to have 34 pro-life exhibitions on the streets of the city and in different local schools.

3. We have launched a new project: Tween Girls' club for school, orphanages and extra curriculum activity Center. We have developed ten new classes for this club including topics: self esteem, body image, friendship and love, healthy way of life... The purpose of the club is to help tween girls prepare for the puberty and learn how to make healthy decisions about their sexuality. About 150 girls took part in the club activities.

4. About 2000 students of high schools heard the interactive lectures on abstinence including a new one: Ukrainian wedding customs and traditions.

5. 18 families graduated from school for Moms and 15 got a crib as a reward for taking all the classes during a two month period.

6. We have trained 6 new counselors to counsel crisis pregnancy in the Women's clinic. God opened the door of the women's Clinic after 7 years of praying. We were able to remodel one of the rooms for this purpose with the financial help of two supporting churches.

7. We have started working with the Department of local Juvenile justice and conducted 12 classes, 2 seminars and 3 social gatherings with teens on probation, talking about sanctity of human life.

8. Two local doctors have agreed to volunteer at the LCC and conduct classes in School for moms.

We have our own challenges and prayer requests:

* for the unity among the staff and volunteers;
* for continuous financial support;
* for the plans to start a new direction in the ministry: Students for family and life;
* for wisdom to God's leadership in everything we do;
* for peace in Ukraine.

Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support. Without you the pro-life ministry in Izmail Ukraine would not be as strong and successful.

Snezhana Popova on behalf of all the participants of this ministry.
