August 2017

Dear faithful friends and supporters of Izmail Life Care Center.

With your support this pro life ministry has been serving women and families of Ukraine since 2004. We had a lot of ups and downs, innovations and changes but you were always close to us in your prayers and actions. We are staying put trying to accommodate the changing needs of those who we serve. Right now in the month of August the LCC does not work, the staff takes vacation every August. We are planning to start our work in September 2017.

Let me tell you what we were able to accomplish in the last months.

We still had the school for moms but it was not as successful this past year.

We still had the school for moms but it was not as successful this past year. The culture changes and young people do not want to get together any more, their life is more about social media online. We think that due to the shift of interest we did not have as many students in our school as we usually had before. We will try to start it again in September but if there is no interest we will have to reconsider and do something else instead.

We still represent the Life Care Center in the women's clinic, which is out patient facility where women come to see doctors. In case of a crisis pregnancy they can have a referral to the abortion clinic. We remodeled one of the rooms and made it a counseling room. The information about a possibility of pre-abortion counseling is put up by us on every abortion referral as well as the pro life information.

Being an educational Center we put up a screen TV on one of the walls in the hall of the women's clinic where those who are in waiting line can watch pro life information.

We have been very active in local schools with sex education lessons, pro life exhibitions, panel discussions. More than 5 thousands students heard our programs this school year. We have already got the renewed permission from the Department of Education to go back to schools in September.

In July we were able to go to one of the camps for children at the beach for the whole day and teach our programs to them. In the beginning we had a special program for all 300 kids and after that we went to separate age groups and taught them lessons we usually teach at schools.

In June we have started a new program for 6 year old children who live in the baby orphanage. We are writing absolutely new curriculum ourselves where we want to teach children family values, introduce them to the basics of hygiene and safety. We are planning to teach those classes to them till the time they are transferred to another orphanage for school age kids.

In July all the volunteers of Izmail Life Care Center form different denominations have decide to come together every month and pray for our ministry. We have already had two prayer meetings.

Prayer requests:
1. For the vision of future ministry.
2. For more counseling possibilities.
3. For long term possibilities to minister to children in the orphanage.
