Hello dear friends and supporters of the Life Care Center of Izmail Ukraine.

I continue to thank God for you and your prayers for our ministry. I also thank God for those who so generously give to support it financially.

We just had the meeting of the Committee of Trustees on the 23 of September. We are happy to welcome the practicing OB Gyn Dr.Love on our board. He is a great asset in our work because we can consult any professionals questions with him and even do things together when he comes to Ukraine. Like this time he spoke to the students of one of the local Universities about the reproductive health and also met with pregnant clients of the LCC and had a time of questions and answers with them.

The director of the Izmail Life Care Center Snezhana Popova reported about the work of the ministry for the last 7 months of the year and the work was admitted as satisfactory.

Work report January 2009 — September 2009

A. Program statistics.

Within these 8 months the Life Care Center could help about 550 people through different programs, seminars, counseling sessions, follow up with women and students through support groups, women’s clubs and activities.
About 1100 high school children and students of local universities heard the abstinence programs.

School for moms:

Purpose: To prepare young families for labor, care for the newborn and post partum period physically, emotionally and spiritually. Integrate the Gospel in every course through word, acceptance, and love.

• Signed up — 22
• graduated — 19
• got the first price — 8
• went through all the classes — 10
• took a labor class with husbands — 3
• follow ups through Baby showers, women's clubs, support groups, fellowship through visits and telephone.

Pre abortion counseling:

Purpose: To give all the information about the prenatal development of the baby, consequences of the abortion and help the client to make a choice regarding her future and the future of her baby.

• Went through counseling — 6 people
• Saved their baby's lives — 2

Work at schools and with students:

Purpose: In the frame of the sexual education help the middle school children to get ready fro the teens years, and the high school children realize the advantages of the abstinence from sex before marriage and it's consequences.

Post abortion counseling

Purpose: based on the doctrine of grace help ladies to forgive themselves and others and to gain the true freedom in Christ
Two women currently are involved in the post abortion counseling through the Program «Forgiven and set free».

B. Public relations:

• Two volunteers of the Life Care Center are the members of the Youth City Counsel and with its help conducted two city events (conference and the festival).
• Musical group of the Charismatic church helped us to conduct the festival for Youth « White Ribbon» in the defense of the unborn.
• Stay in close contact with Christian family counseling Center. Went through training «How to counsel losses, depressions and grief”. The director taught the class on preparation young families for labor, care for the newborn and post partum period physically, emotionally and spiritually.
• With the help of the brother from the Baptist church had in use for free three billboards and three city lights with pro-life information and advertisement of the Life Care Center for 6 months.
• Made connections with local TV and filmed a free clip on types of parenting with the purpose of sharing the need of family education and advertisement.
• Signed the contract with the Maritime institute on the translation practice. The students will translate the pro-life and Christian literature which will be used in future work of the Izmail Life Care Center.

C. Education, community.

• Together with Presbyterian Church, the Youth City Counsel and members of the board (the Scotts and Bob Burnham) held the parenting conference. 70 people took part in it .
• The essay contest for the students of high schools was held. The Essay is published on our website and in the local youth magazine.
• Teaching the program «School for moms» in Odessa and sexual education for parents in Kovel, Volin Oblast (50 people).
• Held the youth festival «White ribbon» in the defense of the unborn downtown.(100 PEOPLE) Shared the information with youth about the consequences of abortion, local stats. Gave away about 600 brochures.
• Volunteers of the Izmail Life Care Center went through training on Finances (Crown Ministries) and as a result started a new class in School for Moms « Biblical View on Finances».

Our needs:

• Finances on bookmarks with pro-life information for schools. - $200
• Anti-virus program - $40
• To put up a stand with our brochures in every local school (15 schools $10 each - $150)
• New cartridges for printer - $150
• Used and new children’s clothes and shoes (sizes 0-24 months).
• New small stuffed toys.
• Baby print fabric and yarn for sewing and knitting projects.
